Frances Kuo (University of New South Wales, Australia)
Frances Kuo is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. She currently holds an Australian Research Council Future Fellowship. Frances works in the theory and application of high dimensional integration and approximation, especially quasi-Monte Carlo methods, multilevel and multivariate decomposition techniques. Her recent interests are in their application to partial differential equations with random coefficients. Frances was the recipient of the inaugural Information-based Complexity Young Researcher Award in 2003, the ANZIAM J.H. Michell Medal in 2011, and the Information-based Complexity Prize in 2014. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Complexity, Mathematics of Computation, and the SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis. She also serves on the Steering Committee for the biennial Monte Carlo and quasi-Monte Carlo Methods (MCQMC) conference series and on the Board of Directors for the society Foundations of Computational Mathematics (FoCM).
