At Hasselt University (June 24-27, 2024) we are organisig a summer school on adaptive methods and a posteriori error estimation for the numerical approximation of the solutions to partial differential equations. Such techniques are essential to guarantee that, on one hand, the numerical approximation is accurate enough, and, on the other hand, the numerical method is efficient, limiting the computations to the minimum necessary.

Please find below an announcement for the Preconditioning 2024 conference. The Netherlands has a tradition in numerical linear algebra, we also organized the Preconditioning conference in Eindhoven in 2015. Register for the conference to see some great new results, and speak to experts in the field. There is a very nice line up of invited speakers. You can submit mini-symposia as well as contributed talks. Wil Schilders

Kinetic theory covers many applications ranging from rarefied gases and plasma flows via agent-based models to geophysical flows. The purpose of this workshop is to bring scientific experts together to exchange about the state-of-the-art in the respective fields. International experts are invited to present new ideas to the growing Dutch community of young and established researchers on kinetic theory. We hope that this workshop will be the start of a closer collaboration of the different groups working on related topics and that this also leads to a closer link with the Dutch high-tech industry.
