Math4NL Community Event, December 5

On Thursday, December 5, Math4NL will host its annual Math4NL Community Event — a day dedicated to connecting mathematicians, industry, and funding opportunities.

The day will consist of two inspiring sessions:

Morning session – “How to Build Your Network”
Especially (but not exclusively) for young researchers. Experts will share practical insights on how to connect with people and businesses, make lasting professional impressions, and turn conversations into collaborations.

Afternoon session – Math4NL Community Event: “From University to Practice: Mathematicians Making Impact”
Our main community gathering features:

• A keynote talk by a former CEO of Siemens, offering a visionary perspective on mathematics in industry;
• Talks by former PhD students who have built impressive industrial careers and now hold leading positions;
• A presentation by NWO-TTW (Applied and Engineering Sciences) on funding opportunities for mathematical research — opportunities that mathematicians have so far hardly explored but should!

This event offers a unique opportunity to network, exchange ideas with industry representatives and funding agencies, and explore how mathematics can make an even stronger impact in society.

Together we can strengthen the mathematics–industry connection in the Netherlands!
