Applied Computational Science conference 2021 (ACOS)

We are happy to announce that the Applied Computational Science conference 2021 (ACOS) can definitely take place LIVE at DIFFER in Eindhoven on 3 November! It has been a while that we could meet in person and we are looking forward to that. There will be plenty of room for interaction, sharing your latest results and to be inspired by our keynote speakers. Further programme details can be found below.

*When and where?____*
Date: Wednesday 3 November
Theme: Computational Sciences for a Sustainable Future
Location: DIFFER in Eindhoven

Please note that NWO follows the covid guidelines from the government. That means we have limited places and we have to check your proof of vaccination or negative test result at the entrance.

*Programme of the ACOS conference____*

It will be an exciting day with inspiring keynotes by:

- Dr. Johan Mentink – He is an expert in ultrafast dynamics of condensed matter systems, specifically on the theoretical description and numerical simulation of (quantum) many-body effects in the ultrafast dynamics of magnetism. He is well-known for the strong interactions with experimentalists and actively involved in the application of ultrafast magnetic phenomena for the development of new concepts for faster, smaller and more energy-efficient computing. - Dr. Nong Artrith – Nong applies computational methods to understand and design realistic complex materials. A specific research focus is on amorphous and nanostructured materials. To enable the modeling of such complex systems, she develops novel methods and tools that are shared with the scientific community. She is an expert on the development and
application of first principles and machine learning methods for the computational discovery of materials for clean water and energy applications and for the interpretation of experimental observations.

- Prof. Dragan Savic - Professor Dragan Savic FREng is the CEO of KWR Water Research Institute. His research interests cover the interdisciplinary field of Hydroinformatics, which transcends traditional boundaries of water/environmental science and engineering, informatics/computer science including Artificial Intelligence, data mining and optimisation techniques and environmental engineering. The applications of his research are generally in the environmental engineering areas, including water resources management (both quality and quantity), flood management, water and wastewater systems, and
environmental protection and management. More info..
